Leggett Boys Snow Day 2011

Well, it seems snow has hit Dallas, GA again!!! After our "White Christmas" I guessed that our winter would be pretty crazy this year, and I guess I was right! The meteorologists predicted a winter storm, and this time they were correct :) The boys were super excited to wake up on Monday morning with close to 5 inches of snow!!! We got to spend the morning throwing snowballs at each other and sliding down the driveway in laundry baskets. Here is a short video of what the Leggett Boys (and girl) do in the snow....

Learning to Read...

One of the biggest things to happen in the Leggett family recently was Jax starting kindergarten!! He absolutely LOVES school and I can't believe how fast he's learning. Last night he asked me to record him reading so he could "impress" his teachers. I don't know about them, but I was impressed! Here is his video. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did :)

Year in Review

Not so long ago, it was a goal of mine to start a blog to document my crazy family and everything we do! While I started off with a bang, I quickly faded as things got busy and my ability to completely repel technology kept me from holding on to a working computer for more than a month! So, I thought, what better time to resolve to keep my blog updated than a new year? I've had so many people tell me how much they enjoyed reading the blog that I thought I should put it on the list of things to do better in 2011. So, here it goes with entry #1 of 2011!!!
A lot has happened since Easter (yes, that was my last entry!!!), but to keep this entry down to less than 20 pages I will stick with the highlights...........

  • Jax turned 5 and started kindergarten! Not to brag, well maybe a little, he is SO SMART!! He started the year off reading a few short books and he can now read over 60 words a minute!!!
  • Jax played 5 year old football. We were worried that he would want to quit after he heard that he'd have to practice 3 times a week in 100 degree weather, but he was a trooper. He even scored a few touchdowns!!!!!
  • Cash turned 3! It's amazing how fast it goes by, especially when you're running around crazy all the time. He got to have 2 birthday parties and even got a trip to the aquarium. He is CRAZY about fish, so I think that was his favorite!
  • Cruz turned 1!! This snuck up on me the most! It's so hard to believe that a year with this little man has flown by so fast. He has been such a joy and it's a little sad to know that his was the last 1st birthday I'll ever celebrate with any of my kids......I said a LITTLE sad, but now I'm over it :)
  • Corey and I celebrated our 8th anniversary. 8 years and 3 kids....wow!!! I'm very blessed to be happily married to a man that can assist me in zone defense :)

I know I'm missing quite a few things, but why linger in the past? Here's to a new year of love, laughter and embarrassing stories :)

Easter 2010

We made it through our first Easter with 3 kids!!! I spent many hours deciding what clothes the kids would wear and how they would coordinate, and it actually paid off! It only took me 2 hours to get them all dressed and happy, but I did manage to get a few cute pictures out of it :) The Easter Bunny also made an appearance and left the boys some goodies. All in all it was a great day!! Here are some photos for your viewing pleasure. I even added Jaxon's "graduation" photo! Talk about a mental breakdown :( Enjoy!!

This just in.

Well, I guess it's time for my monthly blog update. It does seem a little sad that I can't manage to update more than that, but I guess I'll just look at it as I'm spending more time with my family and less time on the computer :)

The Leggett family has been up to a lot these days. Jax is still doing great in Pre-k. He learns so much everyday and is constantly telling me stories about his friends and all the fun things their doing at school. He has been working on spelling and reading short words and sentences. He even has a set of books that he can read all by himself! He really is such a smart and amazing little boy. He refuses to let anything get in his way and his eagerness to learn is unreal for his age. I don't think I've ever known a child that begged for homework!! I have a conference at his school this week so I'll update soon and let you all know if his teacher feels the same way as I do about him! He also started playing t-ball this month!! He team is the Orioles and they are the cutest thing ever! He is a pretty naturally athletic kid, so he does a great job. He hits it harder than anyone on the team and even manages to make an out every now and then. He is by far the youngest on the team, but lets not mention that to the people in charge of the league ;)

Cash is also doing great in school. He has made lots of friends and I think he's even formed a little crush on his teacher :) He is talking up a storm now and has the cutest little voice! He has recently started following Jax around like a puppy. He practically runs to the car when it's time to pick Jax up from school and he is even willing to share his toys every now and then. Ever since Jax started playing baseball Cash has taken a liking to it as well. He is pretty convinced that in order to play any sport you have to wear a hat, so he has a small collection growing around the house in case a situation where sports are involved presents itself. Corey has even convinced Cash to start watching sports on tv with him! This is quite an accomplishment for Corey, being that Jax has always refused to be in the same room with any tv not showing an episode of Spongebob. I think Corey might be brainwashing Cash though, because his "momma's boy" mentality has definitely shifted into Daddy territory. I guess I'll have to start working on bringing Cruz to my side immediately!!

Now for the little Cruz man. He is already 4 months old!!! He is constantly smiling and cooing and grabbing anything within his reach! We started putting him in the exersaucer for a few minutes a day and he is already a pro. He spins himself around and talks and laughs at all the toys on it. He is rolling over both ways and really starting to push up with his arms. I've always had very physical kids and Cruz definitely seems to follow suit. He is already up to 16.5 pounds and growing out of clothes faster than I can buy them! I can't imagine what my life, and my grocery bill, will be like when they're all teenagers! Maybe we should start taking up donations now :) I think Cruz has managed to break the mold of the Leggett boys when it comes to looks! He really looks a lot different than his brothers did, so I'll be interested to see how he changes over the next few months. Corey might actually have a baby that looks like him!!!

As for me, I have to say that having 3 kids has been a lot more challenging than I ever dreamed it would be. There are days when I feel like I've failed miserably and days when I feel like I'm getting the hang of it. I spend the majority of my time making sure they're all fed, clothed, washed and well, which doesn't leave much down time for me to spend with them. But I know that each day I'm getting better at managing it all and the time I spend at home with them they'll remember for the rest of their lives. Mostly I think that I've managed to give birth to the three most amazing people I've ever known and I wouldn't trade a second of the life I have with them.

Thanks for checking in with us and here's the part you all have been waiting for....PICTURES!!!
