A long time coming....

A lot has happened since my last update, which is not surprising being that it was almost 2 months ago :) I want to start off by telling you about Jax's new school!!!! He started 4 year old Pre-K this year, which means he basically has the same schedule as a kindergartner, but instead of going to an elementary school he goes to a daycare facility. We are working very hard to get him there on time everyday and he is working very hard on being content to stay there until 2:30!!!! At first he was a little irritated that I wasn't coming to get him everyday after lunch, but once he did it for about a week he was over it! As you all know Jax is a bit outgoing, so finding new friends and sucking up to the teachers was not a problem. He tells me about his new "guy" friends, as he now calls them, and he even found himself a new girlfriend!!! I was worried when the school year started and he didn't like any of the girls in his class, but low and behold little Miss Carly came along a week later :) All relationships aside, Jax is doing great and learning so much everyday. He is using words like "completely" and "definitely" and he can write all his letters, upper and lowercase, and his numbers!!! I can't believe how big he's getting and I am amazed by him daily.

Speaking of new school, Cash man started preschool this year too!!! He's not going all day everyday like Jax, but he's going to a 3 hour class Monday and Wednesdays without me!!! I tend to produce children that have very few issues with new people, so Cash jumped right in head first with no problem. He has been busy making his teachers fall in love with him and hitting all of his friends, in a very loving non-violent way of course. He continues to expand his vocabulary daily and even throws in a few short sentences every now and then. He is such a content, laid-back child and we're glad to foster that behavior after having Jax who is....not.

I guess now, after hearing about the kids, you might like to know what the adults are up to! If not, you are allowed to skip this paragraph and head straight for the pictures :) September was a big month for Corey, because he turned the big 3-0!! Since his wife is a bit whale-like right now, he was forced to take a trip to Destin without her :) He had his first (and last!) ever all guys golfing marathon at the beach for the weekend. I'm pretty sure Destin was left restocking the bar when they left, but I know he had a blast and hit a milestone with a bang!! We were glad to have him home safe, especially since I was about to go crazy with 2.5 kids and a flooded yard!!!

As for the pregnant lady, I'm doing just fine. It is official that every pregnancy drags on longer and becomes more uncomfortable, but I just keep reminding myself that it will be over soon. Baby Leggett is growing well, and without cysts!!! Our perinatologist informed us that he is perfectly healthy and measuring almost 10 days ahead!! I'm trying not to get my hopes up for an October baby, but lets face it I already have :) I go back to the doctor next week and every week after that until deliver, so I will be sure to update on any progress as soon as I can. And now, please enjoy pictures from the last month!!!!

Birthday Bliss!!!!

Last week was very special for me; it was my 26th birthday!!!! Being a mom, and all the things that go with it, I don't get much time to really enjoy things that interest me :) My parents know that I go a little crazy with kids, so they were gracious enough to offer babysitting services as a gift to me!! Gigi and Pops took the kids Wednesday night to the cabin, and Pawpaw and Meemaw took over on Friday!

While the kids were away I got to spend some time with my friends. Brooke and I took the day on Thursday (my actual birthday) and got a pedicure and did some shopping!! It was nice to have conversations that involved things other than dirty diapers and 4-year old attitudes :) On Friday night Corey told me that we were going to dinner "just the two of us" at my favorite Japanese steakhouse, Kobe's. However, when we got there I was surprised to see a group of friends!! I had no idea he was planning this and the fact that they all came was very special. After dinner we all went to our favorite karaoke bar and partied it up :) Aside from the smoke and obnoxious drunks, it was a blast! I'm pretty sure this birthday will be hard to top.

Now even though my birthday was spent mostly kid-free, Corey surprised me again with a very kid friendly present. He went a few weeks ago and had pictures taken of he and the boys at Marietta Country Club! They were all matching and decked out in their golf wear, and the pictures are beautiful! I will post some of them here so that you can enjoy them as much as I have :) I would like to say thanks to everyone who made my birthday so special. I love you all so much!!!!!!

Birthdays, Babies, Bellies and Ballfields

A lot has happened in the past couple of weeks! My "baby" Jax had his fourth birthday!! I still can't believe how fast he's growing and how much has changed since then. We went the dr. for his checkup and he is still a very big boy. He was 45" tall and almost 50 pounds!!!!!!!!!! I'm afraid that my discipline won't be nearly as effective when I'm staring up at him ;) We also addressed his sleeping issues while at the doctor and I think we're going to put him in a sleep study! I'm hoping this will be the answer to our prayers and we can get him some good quality sleep on a regular basis.

We also went for a checkup on the new baby last week. We had a repeat ultrasound, because they couldn't get all the shots they needed at our 20 week appt. He looks great and the cysts look like they are SHRINKING!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was an amazing appt. especially compared to our previous one ;) He is looking perfect and still on schedule to arrive in November. Thank you so much to everyone that has been praying for us, and we ask that you keep it up because its obviously doing the trick!!!

I got to go to our good friend Lara's baby shower the other day. She is having twin girls and it was so nice to see her off bedrest and getting ready for 2 babies!!!!!!!!!! It really got me excited about having a baby and getting to enjoy another newborn one last time. Unfortunately while we were there, we were forced to take pictures. I guess the one good thing is that it saved me from having to take my own photo, and I'm at least wearing makeup :) So here are a few photos from the past few weeks....enjoy!
Last, but certainly not least, we have a new addition to our front yard. Corey decided that having 3 boys was obviously God's way of telling something. Apparently, it was telling Corey that we needed to build a ballfield in our front yard!!! I was not thrilled, but I must admit it turned out pretty cool and I'm sure the boys will love it when they get a little older. Until then, Corey and his overgrown childhood friends/relatives will make use of it :)

The best laid plans....

It has occurred to me several times this past year that the plans you make for yourself don't always pan out! I know that this should've occurred to me a whole lot sooner, but I'm slow I guess :)

Well first of all, after having two beautiful boys, Corey and I decided that we had our plate full for the moment and if we decided to have a third child it would be a few years in the future. Well, that plan was changed when two little pink lines appeared on a stick in February. I dealt with the fact that my plan wasn't playing out perfectly, but we were just as thrilled to be adding to the family now instead of in the future.

Our second plan was that we would wait until the birth of our third child and be surprised to see if it was a boy or girl! We assumed he/she was healthy and were very laid back about the whole thing, being that we'd "been there, done that". Unfortunately, we were all too naive and when we went for our 20 week ultrasound we discovered that the baby had several cysts on the brain. When we went to the specialist to get things checked out, it was all too obvious that our surprise was in fact a BOY!!! I guess hoping for a surprise on the gender front seems all too unimportant now that we are faced with "complications". While we are more than thrilled to have another sweet boy to love, we are definitely focused first and foremost on him being born as healthy as his brothers!!

So the point of this entry is not to dwell on the plans that didn't pan out, but to be glad that they didn't and to know that there is a reason for that. I'm so glad that we didn't wait a few years to have a baby, and I'm thrilled that we are going to have a chance to raise three HEALTHY boys. I guess it is true that if you want to make God laugh, then tell him your plans!

Beach Bums!

We finally made it back from our beach vacation! This year was so much fun, because not only did Jax have a blast, but Cash was also able to enjoy it now that he's older. We had a variety of activities planned all of which included some sort of water feature being that it was a million degrees outside!!!

We started off most of our days with a trip to the pool. The chlorine and hot sun was enough to get the boys to take a good 2-3 hour nap daily! Jax practiced his swimming skills and got better everyday! He very rarely wears swimmies anymore, but he is still a little wary of the "deep water". The pool where we stayed didn't have steps and was less than 4 feet deep throughout, so Cash was even able to stand almost everywhere! I braved the maternity bathing suit shame and spent most of my days in the pool as well :)

Jax got a few opportunities to play putt-putt, and managed to beat everyone as always. He also got to ride in his very first go-kart!! He and Corey rode on two different tracks, and were the fastest car out there of course! As if we didn't have enough fun, we made a last minute boat trip on our last day. We went around the harbor and into the gulf to watch dolphins!! Jax was mesmerized and even got to drive the boat! All in all I'd say we had an awesome time!

Meet me halfway....

In looking at my calendar, I discovered that I am 19 weeks pregnant TODAY!!! That means that by the time I get back from the beach I'll be halfway done with pregnancy!!!!!!!!!!! This makes me SO HAPPY and SO TERRIFIED! While I hate the backaches and the indigestion, I don't think I'm quite ready to get this baby out. This is probably a good thing since halfway through is not the best time to give birth :) I'm getting really nervous about being a mother of 3 and the fact that I don't have anything done. I not only have a nursery to do, but I also have to move my other 2 children into their new rooms. I try not to think about all of the things that need to be done and instead spend time with the boys before their world is rocked just as much as mine!

On a less stressful note, I am going for my ultrasound today!! I'm hoping this will give me and the boys a chance to see the baby and know that he/she really exists :) Jax is so excited and has a million questions about the baby. I'm doing my best to answer, but somethings will have to wait until he's a little older! I probably won't post ultrasound pictures until we get back from Destin, but until then here is a dreaded belly shot........

Seriously, I might need a forklift to carry me around by week 40 :)

Lucky Number 7

In the midst of tantrums, diapers, indigestion, sciatic nerve pain, etc., I realized that a special day was coming up fast....my anniversary!!! That's right, Corey and I have been married for 7 years on Monday!!! It's hard to believe how much different our life is now compared to years ago on the beach in St. Lucia. While I wouldn't trade one second of our life, it is fun to think about what it was like when we were a family of 2. I can certainly tell you that if you told me then that we would have 3 kids in 7 years time I would've laughed in your face :)

To celebrate our big day we decided to go have a kid-free dinner-and-a-movie date! Corey is having to work a little late, so hopefully our plans won't be completely changed! Corey was allowed to pick the movie, so I'll let you all know how "The Hangover" turns out. I'm sure it will be an Oscar worthy performance :)

On a different note, we are headed to Destin next weekend! We are going to spend an ENTIRE WEEK on the beach and eating yummy seafood! I know I'll have a ton to write about, so don't expect too much from me before then (not that you did anyway!). I'm also having an ultrasound before we leave, so I'll make sure to post pictures of Baby #3 too!
